... that the message board is currently down. We're redirecting to TC's live band, Satiate, for the time being. When are we bringing it back? Who knows?
In the meantime, there's all sorts of stuff going on with the TCR camp. We've got some big-name producers interested in working with us, some very recognizable drummers and guitarists who want to contribute, and of course Robin and TC are working hard on their various portions. Stick around - it's gonna be a good year. |

Marley was dead: to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman, the clerk, the undertaker, and the chief mourner. Scrooge signed it: and Scrooge's name was good upon 'Change, for anything he chose to put his hand to. Old Marley was as dead as a door-nail.
Mind! I don't mean to say that I know, of my own knowledge, what there is particularly dead about a door-nail. I might have been inclined, myself, to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of ironmongery in the trade. But the wisdom of our ancestors is in the simile; and my unhallowed hands shall not disturb it, or the Country's done for. You will therefore permit me to repeat, emphatically, that Marley was as dead as a door-nail. |

Hi, everyone…
I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. As you have read, I have been personally affected by the tornadoes that whipped across Tennessee. They destroyed my mother’s and sister’s hometown, Newbern. I lived in Newbern for only a short time, long enough to graduate from Dyer County, and I return frequently to visit my family and friends.
As of this morning, the death toll of my family’s friends has risen to eight. The deaths do not tell the whole story: the homes of countless other friends and neighbors have been wiped away by the storms. Nearly all of them are now without jobs.
I’m not writing this to discuss the tragedy. It is horrible in a way which needs no words. I’m writing because this community – the community of my family – needs help. People have lost homes that have been in their families for generations. People have lost pets, friends, family members. People have lost everything, including the clothes on their backs.
I know that many of you are like me, and do not have much money to spare. I’m not asking for money you can’t afford. I’m not even asking you for much of your time.
I also know that every single one of you has $5 and five minutes of time. With those five minutes, I ask you to go to your closets and pull out the jeans, t-shirts, old sneakers and boots, and whatever other utilitarian clothes you have that you never wear. I’d like you to go to your cupboards and pull out whatever canned foods you have that are gathering dust. Clean off the cans, wash those old clothes, and then I’d like you to take that $5 to ship those items to these families in need.
Sizes do not matter – the disaster struck for people of all sizes and all walks of life. Any letters, cards, well-wishes you would like to include, I’m sure would be greatly appreciated as well.
If you live in or near Los Angeles and do not have the money to ship, but you would like to contribute, please contact me at paxismad@yahoo.com. I will do my best to help you out. All I ask is that you give me your items washed and boxed. I will be doing two main shipments, one on April 10th, with the deadline of the 9th, and again on the 19th, with a deadline of the 18th.
Please send your aid items to this address:
Reelfoot Rural Ministry 2923 Minnick Elbridge Rd. Obion, TN 38240
You may also call upon the local chapter of Red Cross here: American Red Cross Dyer County Chapter 432 West Court Street Dyersburg, TN 38024 E-mail: redcross@cableone.net Phone: 731-286-4740 Fax: 731-286-0189
Or even locate your own local area chapter here: www.redcross.org
I very much appreciate all you have done or will do, but more importantly, words cannot express the gratitude my neighbors and friends will feel.
Thank you for your time. Thank you for your help.
Most sincerely, TC Smith |

I have a couple of cool pieces of news to share (and by "couple", I actually mean "more than two").
TCR News - We're in the process of doing a large run of jewel-case TCR CDs, and we'll have those for sale in about three weeks. We're also going to be starting some serious radio promotion, and I'll be giving some details about that when they're firmed up as well. - Did someone say hoodies? Just in time for fall! We'll be unveiling the new design shortly!
TC-News In TC's news, Satiate will be playing a show in Hollywood on October 6th! That's right, you can fly to Hollywood to see TC play live with Satiate at the Dragonfly! She'll be posting many more details here soon, I'm sure, but now you have plenty of time to buy tickets to see the show!
Robin-News - In Robin news, she recently played live again. You've heard me talk about Five Fifty - and you'll be hearing a lot more. Robin has agreed to do some songwriting on their new album, and is playing bass at their live shows as well. Their show at Mac's ("the CBGB's of the Midwest") was very well received, and we made some good connections with the Connecticut-based band Pthalo. I'll be putting up a review of that CD soon. - Robin's producing Mina's Diary, whom you've heard as an interlude on the TCR album. It's good, good stuff.

We've discovered that Cargo Records/Livewire in the UK is planning on releasing some old and unreleased Jack Off Jill tracks as "Humid Teenage Mediocrity". We urge you not to preorder this album, as you will never receive it. This release will be stopped if it is not pulled before then.
This is a clear case of copyright infringement, as Robin Moulder, writer of most of the music that appears on this album, was neither asked for her permission nor has she given her consent to the release. |

In case you hadn't been paying attention (and if you weren't, why not?), there's new Tweaker album coming out on April 20th. Tweaker. Chris Vrenna. Or, if you prefer, "one of the most gifted producers around." He's working with Clint Walsh, who you may remember as the talented and brooding guitarist from the last Jack Off Jill album, "Clear Hearts Grey Flowers", or possibly from Psychotica.
It's called "2 a.m. Wakeup Call". It features the Cure's Robert Smith, David Sylvian, and Will Oldham, as well as the Smiths' Johnny Marr on guitar.
My bet is that you'll love it.

| The Announcement |
posted by haetmunky @ 12/29/2003 |
After much delay, hardship, tears, sweat, blood, and other bodily fluids, it gives us great pleasure to announce that the TCR EP is fully mastered, approved, and is about to begin the process of being duplicated. We will be taking orders in two weeks (that's January 13th, for those keeping score at home). We're working on some cool packaging designs, so keep your fingers crossed that the design works out. We want this CD to be memorable in all ways.
We have a number of special guests on this EP, including Chris Vrenna of Tweaker, SMP of Three Ton Gate, theMethod of Godhead, DJ Tree, Richard Pierce of Spookdaddy, and Mark Damian of Cleanse (formerly of Sweatysuedelips) as super-live spectacular drums. Scotty G and Mark Nilan of Livewire Studios lent their excellent production work to many of the tracks.
The final track listing: 1. Suddenly 2. Hope Kills (Buried at Sea) - atomic interlude - 3. Depth Perception - the Miss Mina interlude - 4. The Adventures of Priscilla 5. Waiting for You (Part I) - cleansing the palate - 6. Waiting for You (Part II) 7. Lost Forever - the dividing line - 8. Depth Perception (theMethod mix) 9. Suddenly (DJ Tree mix) 10. Waiting for You (Satiated mix)
We've also got a couple of tracks for the enterprising listener to discover.
It has been a long road to reach this destination, but we're pleased with the work. We think you will be too.
Remember January 13th. Your wait will be rewarded. We hope it beats your expectations. |

6 of the 10 songs on the EP are DONE.
4 of the 10 require MINOR tweaks.
Assuming no major disasters, troubles, floods, earthquakes, or plagues of locusts, those tweaks should be taken care of this week.
Then the mastering process begins. That shouldn't take long at all - the engineers can take care of that without Robin overseeing them, and she can approve or request adjustments quickly.
This means that we forecast studio time to be done in approximately two weeks. That means the musical portion of this album will be DONE.
I will pause here for the confetti.
Thanks.
Then we need to talk about printing and reproduction - i'll let you know the progress of that, but it shouldn't take long. It is entirely possibly that we'll start taking preorders by Halloween.
How's THAT for an update? |

posted by haetmunky @ 09/02/2003 |
And what did your humble narrator do today?
Why, he went to the studio today with Agent Moulder and listened to some tracks that were judged by all present to be "pretty much there." A little more work remains on a few of these tracks (since we recently got some excellent guitar work from an excellent guitar player whose name you have likely heard, and need to make sure everything flows right), but for the most part, there is very little work remaining on the EP.
Possibly one, maybe two more studio sessions, and we're ready to take this thing to press.
That is all. For now. |

Hi, everyone!
First, I'd like to say thanks to Brandon over at Xenopod Inc for getting the site back up and running after the ugliness of this morning (if you didn't visit the site, there were some - ah - issues that required fairly immediate resolution). Now, however, it all appears to be functional and happy, and we love Brandon and Xenopod and if you need web stuff done, they're really cool. And if you notice any residual issues, please drop me an email at haetmunky@t-c-r.net
Secondly, as I'm sure you're curious, the album is basically done. Having recently completed drum tracking with Mark Damian (formerly of sweatysuedelips), Robin's at LiveWire studios adding some guitar tracks from our pal SMP (who you may remember from the old JOJ days), and they sound fantastic. Every day that she comes home with this stuff, it sounds better and better. I may be biased, of course, but this album still blows me away.
Since I don't have a graceful way to wrap this up, I'll just wrap this up right here. With a period.

In response to all who have sent congratulations about the baby, Robin and I send our gratitude. Aside from the inevitable lack of sleep and resultant brain damage, we're mainly functioning well and happily.
That, however, is not the point of this update. The point of this update is to let you know that because of massive wackiness with our Amazon store, and our unhappiness with their system, we've canceled the Amazon store. Instead, you can get all your merch needs fulfilled through this very website. This website, PayPal, and the US Mail, that is. That's right, you can order through PayPal at orders@t-c-r.net. And because we've ditched Amazon, the prices have dropped.
Also, street team folks get some sort of discount on stuff. I was told what it is but I am a tired munky, so I'll tell you what it is later.
